HHS One Act Play performed Any Body for Tea? at District 22AAA competition at Cushing High School on March 7. Congratulations to our cast and crew for placing as “Alternate Play”. Individual awards included: “Honorable Mention All-Star Cast”: Gabe Titman, Gray Bundy and Vernesha Holman; "Best Tech Crew Member": Makenna Iles.

DISTRICT C-X DEBATE WINNERS!
Three HHS C-X Debate teams competed on February 4 at the 22AAA District C-X UIL Meet in Shelbyville. Results were: 1st Place Team - Blake Hunsley and Gabe Titman, 2nd Place Team - Codie Pitre and Abby Adkins, and 3rd Place Team - Manuel Rodriguez and Gray Bundy. Top Speaker was Gabe Titman. The 1st & 2nd place teams will be advancing to State competition on March 13 at UT in Austin. Manuel Rodriguez will be subbing for Codie Pitre on the 2nd place team. Congratulations and good luck to these UIL debaters!

HISD Education Foundation Receives
Brookshire Brothers Grant
On Tuesday, January 24, Hemphill ISD Education Foundation was awarded a grant from the Brookshire Brothers Charitable Foundation. HMS ONE ACT PLAY WINS DISTRICT!
Hemphill Middle School One Act Play performed Danny, King of the Basement at district competition on January 13 and won 1st place; bringing home 11 medals and 4 plaques! Awards were as follows: Elle Godwin - Outstanding Crew Member; Elle Godwin, Autumn Griffin, Wesley Ross, Bret Procella, Will Pay, & Alaina Dickerson - Best Crew; Alaina Dickerson - All Star Cast Honorable Mention; Samantha Allman & Alex Freeman - All Star Cast; Dane Bundy - Best Actor; Kadi Hanks - Best Actress.
