The Hemphill ISD nursing staff will continue to administer the H1N1 Flu vaccine at school for as long as the vaccine is available.  If you would like to have your child/children vaccinated, please contact the school nurse:  409-787-3371 ext. 2509 or 2511.  You may also download the consent form from this Web page (located immediately below this message) and turn in to the nurse's office.  Children who are age 9 or younger will receive two doses of this vaccine, approximately four weeks apart.  If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact Stacee Barnett, school nurse, at 409-787-3371 ext. 2509 or 2511.  Thank you for your attention in this matter.

Everyone at HISD is anxiously awaiting the completion of the new athletic facility, which was started in the spring. The new 37,120 sq. ft. building will include: a 124' x 105' gymnasium, a 45' x 84' weight room, training room, film room, coaches' offices, JV dressing room, Varsity dressing room, MS coaches' office, 7th grade dressing room, 8th grade dressing room, showers, restrooms, and concession stand. The contractor is Slone Construction of Marshall, and the architects are from Goodwin-Lasiter of Lufkin. The estimated completion date is the first week in January, 2010.
