The Hemphill Lady Hornets Volleyball finished their season in second place tied with Kirbyville as District Co-Runner Up for 2009. The Lady Hornets' season wins were 17-8 and district record 6-3. The Lady Hornets are in their third season to play volleyball and the first team known to make the UIL playoffs. Players are: (Captains: Elizabeth Benoit, DeAngela Singleton and Allanah Austin), Kassie Nichols, Kandace Beall, Baylie Butler, Sharee Alston, Alexa Dutton, Katy Brownlee and Paige Merchant.
